At first glance a subdued piece, with vintage Swarovski, including double AB crystal and very rare, double AB Scarabee, Czech crystals, fw pearls and 70-year-old mother of pearl (imported legally long ago). However, the variety of crystals send light bouncing all over the place.

 

The peach-black contrast has a modern feel, reflected in the detail from a Helen Frankenthaler painting. That is, until you look at a Velazquez from the early 1700s--a detail of the Infanta Margarita portrait (brush strokes removed to focus on shapes and colors). No clasp; on stretchy cord.

 

These Scarabees deserve a loving home; serious applications only.
