The Jaded Palette: the climate crisis and fossil fuels April 4, 2015 00:17

The Jaded Palette recently signed Ceres' Climate Declaration--it's a non-partisan, apolitical statement calling on both the US government and all citizens to acknowledge that climate change is real, and that we must immediately reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. (This is Ceres, the environmental not-for-profit, not the juice people.) Both individuals and businesses can sign the Declaration. Please join us--THERE IS NO PLAN B FOR THE PLANET.

(As an aside, we highly recommend the passion fruit juice from the other Ceres. Try it in your kale smoothies.)

We heard about the Declaration through our membership in Green America's Green Business Network. We have no relationship with either Ceres organization. We do have a relationship with polar bears, though; we'd like to keep them around. Like thousands of species, they are on the brink of extinction. Global warming has exhausted their food supply, destroyed their denning habitats and caused countless drownings as the bears must swim farther and farther hunting for food. They cannot survive without sea ice.

There are many reasons we donate a portion of all sales to organizations like the World Wildlife Federation. We think this mother and her cubs represent a pretty compelling one.
